Delete your account

You can delete your KalaSangama account at any time. Here is how, and exactly what happens to the data.
From the app
Open the app, go to More → My account → Delete account, and confirm with your password.
From a browser
Sign in, then go to My account → Delete account and confirm with your password.
If you cannot sign in
Email privacy@kalasangama.com from the address on the account. We will verify it is yours and delete it within 30 days.
What is deleted
- Your name, email address and password.
- Your membership of every institute, so you lose access immediately.
- Any outstanding password-reset or invitation links.
What is kept, and why
Records you entered on behalf of an institute (students, attendance, invoices, payments) stay with that institute, with your name detached from them. They are the institute's business records, and in the case of fee receipts they are financial documents the institute may be required to keep. Deleting your personal account should not destroy their books.
If you are the only person in an institute, deleting your account also closes that institute. We will tell you before that happens and ask you to confirm.
If you are the only administrator of an institute that still has other members, we will ask you to make someone else an administrator first. Otherwise the remaining teachers would be left with an institute nobody can manage.
Timing
Deletion from the app or the web is immediate and cannot be undone. Backups are rotated within 90 days, after which no copy remains.
